Mission Statement
It shall be the purpose of the GLOUCESTER CITY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB, to further the exchange of information and cooperation between members, to promote radio knowledge, fraternalism and individual operating efficiency, and to conduct club programs and activities as to advance the general interest and welfare of Amateur Radio in the community. The club supports communications activities of emergency management communications (EMCOMM), including the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (A.R.E.S.), Federal Office of Emergency Management (F.E.M.A.), National Incident Command System (N.I.C.S.) and the National Weather Service SKYWARN reporting system. G.C.A.R.C. is an American Radio Relay League (A.R.R.L.) affiliated club.
PROUD DAY FOR THE CLUB!
This evening at the Gloucester City Council meeting the Club received both a proclamation of commendation for the Club's emergency communications efforts in the community and a pristine Astatic Silver Eagle D104 microphone.
The proclamation appears here with the picture representing the microphone.
The microphone, itself was donated to the City by James Kelly whose late father was a ham.
